Poetry
Art the Redeemer
by Paul Hughes
In the eye of my mind,
Atop a snowless peak,
Stands a grand, towering statue
Of a magnificent open age:
Art the Redeemer.
Sculpted from stone
As sturdy as skyscrapers,
Standing untouched
In the most violent thunderstorms.
And penetrating blizzards
Immovable and unshakeable,
Transcending the roughest
Terrains of the earth below,
Art is the Redeemer
Of the suffering of life.
