Poetry
Son of Socrates
by Vesuvia
Originally named Aristocles,
He is far better known
As Plato, the Athenian,
From whom all knowledge has grown.
He gave his name to love
Of a very special sort,
A spiritual affection
So pure, it can’t be bought.
His philosophical system,
His dialectic mode
Is the art of disputation
That leads through a logical code
To ideas which produce knowledge
Making a classified whole,
A system of question and answer
Reaching a philosophical goal.
